We have booked a guided tour of CERN on Saturday 14 June 2014.
The tour lasts for around 3 hours and consists of an introduction, followed by a film and a visit to an experimental and/or accelerator facility. It may not be possible to visit the underground installations, though we will work on trying to organise something, as the LHC is currently shut down for upgrade. Note that CERN suggest that the tours may be strenuous for some people, due to steep stairways.
In addition, the permanent exhibitions at CERN, “Universe of Particles” and “Microcosm”, open from 10am on Saturday morning.
We may be able to offer other visits during our stay, but these will be arranged nearer the date.
If you are interested in attending this trip please contact us. Note that the trip is open to Flamsteed members and guests only. Attendees will be responsible for booking their own flights and accommodation.
