Pete Lawrence is an astronomer and co-presenter on the BBC’s Sky at Night TV programme presenting practical observing guides to some of the objects being discussed on the show. He is also a consultant for the popular Stargazing Live television series. He writes the monthly Sky Guide for the BBC Sky at Night Magazine and carries out equipment reviews as their resident imaging expert. Pete is highly regarded as a world class astrophotographer with many of his images having been published in books and online across the world. As well as having over 40 years experience as an astronomical observer, he also holds an honours degree in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leicester.
In this lecture, Pete will be talking about how to view our nearest star, the Sun. We will also have news about the re-launch of the Flamsteed solar viewing programme.
