CSI Universe: Space and Spectra by Dr Radmila Topalovic

October 1, 2012 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Dr Radmila Topalovic

Book now

Dr Radmila Topalovic of the Royal Observatory Greenwich will be giving a talk on ‘CSI Universe: Space and Spectra’. She will be talking about the importance of spectroscopy in astronomy and how it has helped us in our understanding of the nature of the Universe – including the search for life elsewhere.

Radmila studied for her PhD in Astrochemistry at the University of Nottingham during which she used the night sky as her own stellar laboratory to look for large organic molecules in stardust which may help to explain the origins of life here on Earth. After a stint of teaching science and astronomy to secondary school students and talking to the public at various science festivals Radmila is now involved in creating and delivering exciting new workshops as part of the Royal Observatory’s Astronomy Programme for schools.

Radmila’s talk will be preceded by the Flamsteed Astronomy Society AGM.

Please note that this event is open to Flamsteed members only. Flamsteed members who wish to guarantee a seat at this lecture should click on the ‘book now’ icon or click here.
